The winners of the Webby Awards have also been announced, and once again the Muppets have proven that they are Webby Darlings, winning two Webby Awards for their contribution to the Band-Aid Magic Vision iPhone application. They won the Webby and the People's Choice Webby in the Augmented Reality category for the Band-Aid app. Congrats to the Muppets and the Band-Aid people on the big Webby win!

This week's vintage news comes in the form of the full pilot for the unaired Jim Henson sitcom Puppetman starring Fred Newman and Richard Hunt (yes, that Richard Hunt). It's not the best thing that Jim ever did, but it's still fun and it's great to see Richard show off his acting chop sans-puppet.

"With the Muppets? We sing and dance. Me and Danny Trejo are in prison, Kermit is there as well as scattered other Muppets. Kermit gets thrown into jail because they think he’s somebody he’s not, and the identical of him, this guy Constantine, is going out and doing bad things. So yeah, we’re just singing and dancing. Tina Fey is the Warden, Ricky Gervais is somebody in it, it was a lot of fun. It’s really funny. It’s all singing and dancing."

And there you have it!

  1. Incorrect, Ryan.

The Muppets (per Band-Aid's app) won not two, but a total of THREE Webby Awards (Two Webby Awards, One People's Voice Award)!
